DCTV Awards

Since 2006, DeKalb County Television has won 57 National Awards. The overall tally includes a Southeast Regional EMMY® Award, two AABJ awards (Atlanta Association of Black Journalists), 31 Pegasus Awards, 14 NATOA awards (National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors), and nine NACIO awards (National Association of County Information Officers).

DCTV earned the title “Station of the Year” in 2006 for its budget category, beating out cable stations across the nation competing for this top honor. The National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors or NATOA issues this award.

DCTV is the first station, not only in the southeast region, but also the entire east coast to receive this honor (in our budget category) by NATOA.

DCTV was also named NATOA’s 2006 first place winner in the Senior Productions category for its production of the “Inside DeKalb - Lou Walker Senior Center” special edition.

In 2006, DeKalb County Television won 19 national awards for excellence in programming, including four NATOA awards, seven Pegasus Awards and eight NACIO (National Association of County Information Officers) awards.

Since launching its full roster of programming in 2003, DCTV has produced eight different County-related programs and major features, including Inside DeKalb, Let's Talk DeKalb, DeKalb Salutes You, Check it Out, and Arts, Culture & Entertainment Living and award-winning Public Service Announcements.

DeKalb County Television on Comcast Cable Channel 23 serves as the sole media source of DeKalb County government events and programs, working to inform and entertain the more than 700,000 residents in DeKalb County. |
